I hope that most of you know who Eddie Murphy is... Beverly Hills Cop, Pluto Nash, etc. His new movie (Meet Dave) is coming out soon, and in an interview with Access Hollywood, Eddie let it be known that he wanted a role in ST:IV (The Voyage Home). The words straight from the horses mouth: They were 'and you are going to be the jive dude in San Francisco with Spock' and I was like 'I don't want to be the jive dude with Spock, I want to have pointed ears and a phaser and I want to beam and I want to do all of that' and I never got to do it. So now I got to play the captain in this film. Captain of the ship with a mid-Atlantic accent. The role they wanted Murphy to play eventually turned into Dr. Gillian Taylor. Can you immagine Kirk getting a kiss on the cheek from Dr. George Taylor...? Yea, me neither :P The whole interview can be found here .

It seems that Cryptic is living up to its name, having only a counter on their website with 24 days (hours, minutes, seconds as well) with a planet type background as well. Cryptic "took over" the development of Star Trek Online, but there really hasn't been any word as to what is going on with the game... Is it really only 24 days away from launch? You decide ;) Or just wait 24 days and see what the counter is actually all about ;)
